Solar Water Heater Product Testing Center
SPF is a well-known solar water heater product testing laboratory recognized by the European Union and enjoys a high international reputation. Many Chinese solar water heater products are the first choice for testing in order to export to Europe. The center is affiliated with the Swiss University of Applied Sciences. It was established in 1981 and currently has 22 full-time staff. It is a non-profit research institute operating according to business activities.
The center is the only product testing laboratory in Switzerland that is authorized by the country to issue notarized data to the society. The test results provided by the center are mutually recognized in the European Community countries, but solar water heater products in non-EU countries must pass the European recognized testing centers such as (SPF ), After passing the test, EU countries are allowed to import sales. SPF enjoys a high reputation among the EU-approved testing institutions for solar water heater products.
Testing depends on European EN standards for product quantity testing. The testing content includes:
1. Thermal performance test: daily heat of water heater per square meter, system heat loss, and thermal efficiency.
2. Safety performance testing: snow, rain, frost, electrical safety, system pressure, overheating protection.
3. Appearance quality: beautiful appearance, no scratches, no obvious flaws.
4. The quality of key components: The solar collector meets the requirements of EN12975, the pressure capacity of the water storage tank, the insulation status of the system piping, and the electrical equipment is complete and safe.
In addition to the quality inspection of solar water heaters, it is also possible to test the transmittance, coating absorption, and emissivity of solar transparent cover plates, especially quality printed glass and silicone printed with SPF, which is a quality guarantee.
An inspection report with the SPF quality mark is issued for the inspection results of each solar water heater under the conditions of sunlight intensity and ambient temperature specified in the EN12976 standard.
