Norway PoHS

Norway is not a member of the European Union, and the requirements for the control of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products are different from the European Union. Norwegian Hazardous Substances Control Regulations-"Product Regulations" was officially implemented on July 1, 2004. The current version of the regulatory requirements for electrical and electronic equipment is consistent with EU RoHS directive requirements. However, in May 2007, the Norwegian Pollution Control Agency (SFT) proposed a new draft chapter of the Product Regulations-"Prohibition of Certain Hazardous Substances in Consumer Products" (ie PoHS). The draft proposed to control the scope of products including electronics and electrical Consumer goods such as consumer goods, clothing, toys, etc., proposed to control 10 kinds of substances, the draft is expected to be implemented before the end of this year. After the implementation of PoHS, electrical and electronic products exported to Norway must meet the requirements of the PoHS regulations in addition to the requirements of the RoHS directive.
